Extra EditionIt was a Sunday just like any other Sunday. I had gotten up early and did my laundry along with the rest of my lazy Sunday morning routine then headed out to visit with Mary at her work. Always a relaxing visit over a cup of coffee with no kids around. They are at home with Dan and business is casual. Finally I pry myself away to do my grocery shopping. While I'm out I buy a little treat for Mary and returned to squeeze in another quick visit before heading home.
Imagine my surprise when I pulled into the parking lot and saw the front door askew, a window missing and glass scattered everywhere. While I was gone a customer had inadvertently put their car in drive instead of reverse intending to back out.

Looky here, someone crashed into my storefront.

The door hangs slanted in and the window is laying on the ground shattered. Thank God for safety glass.

Mary, on autopilot, makes all the necessary calls to the boss, police and corporate and then gets all the customers out safely without incident. Management arrives to inspect the damage.

Dan gets a babysitter and rushes to the store to make sure Mary is ok and help by providing door service to customers while they wait for the repairmen to come.

Mary provides window service,

and walk up service.

And of course there are a number of looky loos. The repairmen finally arrived and Dan stayed taking over Mary's shift. The boss figured she had enough for one day and sent her home. No one got hurt. Customers were taken care of, and tomorrow will be business as usual.
